Greyhound Softball Begins 2025 Season on March 3 at PFX Spring Games
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University softball squad begins its 2025 season on Monday, March 3 with non-conference games versus Neumann University and Adrian (Mich.) College to begin a week at the PFX Spring Games in Florida.

Third-year Head Coach Josh Baltz has 22 returning players from last year's 31-10 squad that won the Landmark Conference title and hosted an NCAA Division III Regional for the first time in program history. The group of student-athletes back for the Hounds includes nine that have garnered postseason accolades in their careers.
Junior catcher Marcie Silberman was named a 2024 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Second Team All-American last spring in addition garnered spots on the Landmark All-Conference First Team and the NFCA Division III All-Region 5 Second Team last spring after recording a .350 batting average, 48 hits, 31 runs, 15 doubles, a school and Landmark Conference record 16 home runs, and 52 RBIs at the plate and 187 putouts, 18 assists and nine runners caught stealing behind the plate. Silberman heads into her junior year with 88 hits, 49 runs, 23 doubles, a triple, 22 home runs and 83 RBIs as well as 322 assists, 30 assists and 12 runners caught stealing.
Graduate student second baseman Ajala Elmore made the Landmark All-Conference First Team and NFCA All-Region Second Team a year ago and she was also the Landmark Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player after hitting .409 with 36 hits, 24 runs, five doubles, five home runs and 26 RBIS, and she had 56 putouts and 62 assists in the field. Elmore, who was on the 2023 Landmark All-Conference Second Team, enters her final season with 117 hits, 80 runs, 17 doubles, four triples, 10 homers and 76 RBIs to go with 210 putouts and 245 assists.
Senior outfielder Sage Snyder was honored on the Landmark All-Conference First Team for the second straight spring in 2024 and she was on the NFCA All-Region 5 Third Team last year. She hit .342 with 41 hits, 36 runs, eight doubles, two triples, four homers, 22 RBIs, 17 stolen bases and 55 putouts. Snyder has 87 hits, 74 runs, 15 doubles, four triples, seven home runs, 52 RBIs and 32 stolen bases in three seasons with the Hounds.
Senior first baseman Lindsey Gawrys was named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team and NFCA All-Region Third Team a year ago, and she was on the All-Region First Team in 2022 as freshman. Last spring, Gawrys had 45 hits, 36 runs, nine doubles, two triples, four homers, 20 RBIs and 258 putouts. Heading into her final season, she has 135 hits, 97 runs, 26 doubles, six triples, 11 home runs, 77 RBIs and 815 putouts.
Junior pitcher/outfielder Sarah DeStefano was honored on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team as an outfielder last season after being named as the 2023 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and earning spots the Landmark All-Conference Second Team and the NFCA All-Region 5 Second Team as a freshman. DeStefano hit .412 with 35 hits, 10 runs, a double, two triples and 16 RBIs at the plate, and she tossed 22 innings with a 2-1 record and 15 strikeouts. DeStefano begins the year with 78 hits, 30 runs, four doubles, two triples, 35 RBIS and a .373 career batting average to go with an 18-5 mark in the circle with 99 strikeouts and a 2.19 ERA in 153.1 innings of work.
Junior pitcher Natalie Otto made the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in 2024 after an 11-4 season in the circle that included two shutouts, 79 strikeouts and a 2.20 ERA in 95.1 innings of action. Otto also had four hits, a run, a double and three RBIs at the plate. Otto has 90 strikeouts and a 13-4 slate in 104 career innings.
Sophomore outfielder Shayla Morgan earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team after hitting .383 in her debut season with 23 hits, 20 runs, two RBIs and 21 stolen bases. She also had 60 putouts in center field.
Junior third baseman Sydney Andrews was selected to the Landmark All-Conference Honorable Mention Team a year ago after collecting 26 hits, 12 runs, six doubles, a triple and 19 RBIs at the plate and 23 putouts and 54 assists in the field in her first season with the Hounds.
Senior shortstop Holly Walter was named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team in 2023, and last season she recorded 39 hits, 37 runs, five doubles, six triples, a homer, 18 RBIs and 13 stolen bases at the plate, and 60 putouts and 64 assists in the field. Walter has collected 126 hits, 95 runs, 17 doubles, 12 triples, six home runs, 37 stolen bases and 50 RBIs at the plate and 135 putouts and 232 assists in the field in her career entering 2025.
Also returning for the Greyhounds to add depth to the roster are senior outfielder Jessica Forder, senior catcher Jenna Lenko, senior infielder Ren Herschman, junior outfielder Madison Berning, junior infielders Kendall Szor and Emma Wariwanchik, junior pitcher Kayla Krausse , sophomore pitcher Kyra Holtje and sophomore infielder Emma Grace Pachkowski, Cassandra Farrell and Gillian Slowinski and sophomore outfielders Leah Chladny and Madelin Cooper.
Forder had 10 hits, three runs, a double and four RBIs in 2024 while Herschman had four hits, a run, two doubles and two RBIs. Berning collected three hits and an RBI while Pachkowski added two this, five runs and an RBI a year ago. Holtje recorded seven strikeouts in 8.1 innings in the circle, and she had two hits and three runs at the plate while Lenko added a hit and a run. Chladny posted four runs, a hit and an RBI while Wariwanchik had a run and an RBI. Cooper scored five runs as a pinch runner while Farrell cross the plate twice,
