TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior shortstop Holly Walter has been honored as the Landmark Conference Softball Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
Walter helped No. 17 Moravian to a sweep of King's College in the only action of the week. Walter went 5-for-7 with five runs, an RBI, a double and three triples in the two contests. She became the program's all-time leader in triples in a career with 16, and Walter also had three putouts and four assists in the field in seven chances.
"Holly had a great day this past week," noted Head Coach Josh Baltz. "Anytime a player breaks a school record at Moravian, it's a big deal—especially with the tradition and talent we've had over the years. It was a special moment for her. Her power and speed were on full display, and she played strong, consistent defense throughout the doubleheader."
The Hounds are scheduled to return to action on Monday, April 14 when the squad heads to Wilkes University in a Landmark Conference doubleheader beginning at 4:00 p.m. in Edwardsville.
