TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior forward Marquis Ratcliff has been selected as the Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.
Ratcliff tossed in a career-high 35 points to help Moravian rally from a 14-point first-half deficit to a 96-93 double overtime win at rival Muhlenberg College to begin the 2025-26. Ratcliff, who surpassed 30 points in a game for the ninth time in his career, grabbed 12 rebounds for his 28th career double-double, and he had three assists and a blocked shot while shooting 8-for-18 from the field, 1-for-3 on three-pointers and 18-for-21 at the foul line.
"Marquis has really put in the work this offseason to take his game to another level," stated Interim Head Coach Michael Mayes. "He's been in the gym consistently, focusing on improving every area of his game, and that effort is showing on the court. What I've been most proud of, though, is how he's grown as a leader. He's been vocal, uplifting his teammates, and keeping everyone engaged and locked in. This recognition is well-deserved and a reflection of how much he's committed to both his own growth and the success of our team."
The Hounds are slated to return to action on Thursday, November 13 in a non-conference game at Immaculata University beginning at 6:00 p.m.
