Kratzer Breaks Single Season Three-Point Record as Greyhounds Top Goucher

How It Happened
- The Gophers netted the first four points of the game before senior guard Chad Kratzer got the Hounds on the scoreboard with a three-pointer. Kratzer drained another three-pointer to go with a lay-up off a steal to give the Blue & Grey an 8-6 edge. Moravian took a 16-10 lead on a lay-up by senior forward Marquis Ratcliff with 13:45 on the clock; however, Goucher answered with a 13-3 run to go up 23-19 with 10:38 left in the first half
- Freshman guard Nico Pulieri drained a three-pointer to knot the score at 25-25. Over the final seven minutes of the first half, the squads traded the lead four times and were tied four times before the Greyhounds took a 41-36 lead on two free throws by junior guard Joel Baez with just over a minute left in the half. Senior forward Liam Cummiskey sank a late free throw to send the Hounds to the locker room with a 42-40 edge
- Cummiskey and Baez opened the second half with three-pointers to push the Moravian advantage to 48-40. The Gophers closed within a point on two occasions, the second time at 63-62 with 9:18 to play. The Greyhounds countered with a 12-1 run to go up 75-63 on a Ratcliff three-pointer with just under six minutes remaining. Goucher made it a four-point contest, 77-73, with two minutes to play before two baskets from Kratzer and a three-point play by Ratcliff put the game away
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had a pair of players in double figures with Kratzer netting 28 points to go with nine rebounds, two assists and two steals. Kratzer drained five three-pointers in the contest to give him 74 for the season to surpass the single season school record of 72 set by Nicholas Casazza in 2017-18
- Ratcliff posted his eighth double-double of the season and the 35th of his career as he posted 27 points and 10 rebounds to go along with six blocked shots, two assists and a pair of steals. Ratcliff moved into second in program history with 1,888 points, and he is second all-time with 831 rebounds and the program record holder with 213 blocked shots
- Cummiskey finished with nine points, two assists and two rebounds while Baez had eight points, nine boards and five assists
- Sophomore guard Dylan Costa contributed seven points and three assists while Pulieri had three points and sophomore guard JJ Kolumber added two points
- The Hounds shot 28-for-69 from the field, 16-for-39 on three-pointers and 12-for-17 at the foul line
- Both squads grabbed 39 rebounds while the Blue & Grey forced the Gophers into 13 turnovers to just ten for Moravian
