Greyhounds Fall to Scranton in First Landmark Conference Setback of the Season
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men’s basketball squad fell to visiting The University of Scranton, 91-75, in Landmark Conference action Wednesday evening as the Greyhounds dropped their first conference contest of the 2025-26 season.

How It Happened
- The Royals netted the first two points of the contest while junior guard Joel Baez got the Blue & Grey on the scoreboard with a lay-up and senior guard Chad Kratzer drained a three-pointer for a 5-2 lead for the Greyhounds. Scranton countered with a 16-5 run to build an 18-10 edge seven minutes into action before the Hounds rallied to tie the game at 20-20 two minutes later on a three-pointer from sophomore guard Dylan Costa
- Moravian added another five points to take a 25-20 edge at the 9:17 mark on a lay-up by senior guard Porter Kelly. After a timeout, Scranton netted seven straight points for a 27-25 advantage before Kelly hit a three-pointer. Senior forward Marquis Ratcliff tied the game at 30-30 with just over six minutes left in the first half while the Royals followed with a 10-2 run, and Scranton took a 42-36 lead into the intermission
- The Royals scored the first two baskets of the second half, and Scranton led the entire second half. The Hounds closed the gap to six points on twice, the final time at the 16:02 mark on a lay-up from Ratcliff
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had four players in double figures with Ratcliff netting a game-high 20 points to go with nine rebounds, three assists and four blocked shots
- Baez tossed in 14 points to go along with three rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot while Kratzer added 12 points, four assists, five boards and one steal
- Kelly had 17 points with four rebounds, two assists and four steals
- The Hounds' bench registered 12 points with Costa adding seven points and two assists while junior guard Riley Flood and senior guard Colin Farrell each scoring two points. Sophomore guard JJ Kolumber netted his first point as a Greyhound
- Moravian shot 26-for-52 from the field (50.0 percent), 4-for-23 on three-pointers and 19-for-28 at the free throw line while the Hounds grabbed 20 rebounds for 44 points in the paint for the Blue & Grey
