Moravian Remains Undefeated with One Point Win at Elizabethtown to Start Landmark Conference Slate
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian University men’s basketball team remained undefeated in the 2025-26 season with a 79-78 victory at Elizabethtown College Wednesday evening to open the Landmark Conference schedule for the year.

How It Happened
- The Blue Jays scored the opening bucket while senior guard Porter Kelly put the Hounds on the scoreboard with a lay-up on their first possession. Elizabethtown opened an 8-4 edge before senior forward Marquis Ratcliff hit a jumper to knot the score at 8-8 with just over 14 minutes left in the first half. The Greyhounds took their first lead at 12-11 on a lay-up from Kelly
- Elizabethtown would go on a run to build a 23-16 edge with just over five minutes to go before the intermission while the Blue & Grey countered with a 10-2 run to move back on top 26-25 with 2:11 to go on a lay-up from Ratcliff. Kelly gave Moravian a 31-29 lead with a three-pointer while senior guard Chad Kratzer hit the last shot of the half to send the Hounds to the locker room with a 33-31 edge
- Kratzer drained three free throws for the first points of the second half to start a 13-2 run that was capped by a dunk from junior forward Riley Flood to Moravian up 46-33 just over four minutes into the second half. Kratzer hit a lay-up midway through the half to give the Greyhounds a 58-47 edge with ten minutes to play
- Moravian's advantage was still in double figures at 74-63 with a little over three minutes to go after a lay-up from Kelly. However, a 13-3 run from the Blue Jays made it a one-point game with 25 seconds remaining. Senior forward Liam Cummiskey hit two free throws with five seconds left for a three-point edge while Elizabethtown hit a lay-up just before time expired on a rebound to net the final points of the contest
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had three players in double figures led by Kelly, who tossed in 21 points to go with four rebounds, four assists and two steals
- Krazter recorded 20 points with five boards and three assists while Ratcliff registered his third double-double of the season and 30th of his career with 19 points and 14 rebounds
- Cummiskey netted seven points to go with four boards while Flood and junior forward Joel Baez both contributed five points with Baez adding eight rebounds and four assists
- Junior guard George Cutler had two points, three assists and two rebounds for the Blue & Grey
- The Hounds were 28-for-68 from the field (41.2 percent), 8-for-28 on three-pointers and 15-for-17 at the foul line
- Both Moravian and Elizabethtown grabbed 45 rebounds in the contest
