Moravian Drops Landmark Conference Game at Juniata to End 2025-26 Season

How It Happened
- The Eagles netted the first four points of the contest before senior forward Marquis Ratcliff got the Hounds on the scoreboard with a lay-up just over three minutes into action. Juniata pulled ahead 14-4 while the Blue & Grey countered with a lay-up by Ratcliff and a three-pointer from senior guard Chad Kratzer with a little over 11 minutes left in the first half
- Juniata pushed the advantage to 11 points with a 20-9 edge at the 8:35 mark while Moravian closed the gap to three points at 24-21 with 3:52 until the intermission on a lay-up from Ratcliff. However, the Eagles finished the half with a 16-7 run to head to halftime with a 40-28 lead
- Kratzer opened the second half with a three-pointer, but Juniata hit two baskets for a game-high 13-point lead at 44-31. The Greyhounds slowly began to close the game and would tie the contest at 51-51 on two Ratcliff free throws with 11:09 on the clock. The Eagles countered with a three-pointer and a lay-up to lead 56-51 midway through the half
- Juniata stretched the advantage out to 12 points at 71-59 with 5:20 to go. Moravian slowly closed the gap again, getting within two points at 76-74 with 2:24 remaining on a three-pointer from Kratzer. The Eagles answered with a three-pointer and then put the game away at the foul line
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had three players score in double figures led by Ratcliff, who had his tenth double-double of the season and 37th of his career, as he posted 24 points and 13 rebounds to go with two blocks, two assists and two steals. Ratcliff finishes his career as the Greyhounds' record holder in points with 1,945 points and blocked shots with 222, and he is second all-time in rebounds with 861
- Kratzer tossed in 23 points to go along with two rebounds and a pair of steals while junior guard Joel Baez had 15 points, four steals, two assists and two boards
- Senior forward Liam Cummiskey posted seven points, three rebounds and three assists while freshman guard Nico Pulieri added five points, six boards and a pair of steals
- Sophomore guard JJ Kolumber contributed three points while sophomore guard Dylan Costa had a point
- Junior guard/forward Riley Flood pulled down three rebounds and had a pair of assists while junior guard George Cutler dished out two assists
- The Hounds shot 21-for-59 from the field (35.6 percent), 8-for-31 on three-pointers and 28-of-39 at the foul line
