Greyhounds Come Up Short to Muhlenberg in Crosstown Clash
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s volleyball team forced a fourth set before falling to rival Muhlenberg College, 3-1, in non-conference action during the Crosstown Clash in Johnston Hall Wednesday evening as the Hounds played their 2025 home opener.

How It Happened
- The Mules took an early 8-1 lead in the first set before the Blue & Grey rallied to get within 11-9. Moravian closed the cap to appoint at 18-17 before the Mules pushed ahead for a 25-21 set win
- The Hounds held a 4-2 edge early in the second set. Muhlenberg came back to take a three-point lead at 15-12 before Moravian countered and held a 22-18 advantage. The Blue & Grey scored a point to hold a 23-22 lead while the Mules scored the last three points of the set for a 25-23 win and a 2-0 lead
- The third set was close as with Muhlenberg up 4-1 early while Moravian led 15-11 halfway through the set. The Hounds ended up posting a 25-23 win in the set to close the score to 2-1
- The close contest continued through the fourth set with Moravian down 10-9 before the Mules closed with a 15-7 run to win 25-16 and capture the match
Inside the Number
- Sophomore middle blocker Kate McBrierty led Moravian with 13 kills to go with three blocks while junior outside hitter Gabbie Reigner added 12 kills and 16 digs
- Sophomore opposite hitter Ella Kilko registered seven kills and three digs while junior outside hitter Kelly Tempalsky had four kills, six digs and a pair of blocks
- Junior middle blocker Payton Reuber contributed three kills and two blocks while senior setter Ally Plitnick posted 35 assists, 19 digs and five kills
- Junior libero Sam Love recorded 17 digs, three assists and two kills while junior defensive specialist Molly Hughes had six digs and a pair of assists
- Sophomore defensive specialist Madalyn Kocsis had a pair of service aces while senior outside hitter Caroline Melillo added three digs and a kill
