Moravian Drops Close Match with Susquehanna
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference action in Johnston Hall Saturday with all four games decided by four or fewer points.

How It Happened
- The River Hawks had a quick 3-0 lead in the opening set before the Hounds ran off four straight points for a 4-3 edge. Susquehanna countered and led 11-7, and the River Hawks were ahead 16-14 when the Blue & Grey scored five consecutive points and eight of 10 to take a 22-18 edge. Susquehanna knotted the set at 23-23 before the Greyhounds scored the final two points for a 25-23 set win and a 1-0 advantage
- Moravian raced out to a 7-1 lead in the second set before the River Hawks started to close the gap and tied the game at 15-15. The Hounds moved back ahead 18-16 before a six-point run by Susquehanna gave the River Hawks control on the way to a 25-22 set win to tie the match
- Susquehanna had an early 7-4 advantage in the second set before the Greyhounds came back and made it 7-7. The River Hawks led 14-10 but that would be the last time either squad led by more than two points. The set was tied on seven occasions after that including 23-23 before Susquehanna recorded the final two points to take the third game 25-23 and build a 2-1 lead
- The River Hawks jumped out to an 8-1 advantage in the third set; however, Moravian came back to take an 11-10 lead. Susquehanna countered with a run to go up 19-15, but once again, the Hounds came back and tied the set at 21-21 before the River Hawks scored the final four points of the set to clinch the match
Inside the Numbers
- Junior middle blocker Payton Reuber led the Greyhounds with 14 kills to go with two blocks and a pair of digs while sophomore middle blocker Kate McBrierty added 13 kills, three blocks and two digs
- Junior outside hitter Gabbie Reigner contributed ten kills, 13 digs and a pair of service aces while sophomore opposite hitter Ella Kilko posted six kills, five digs and two blocks
- Junior outside hitter Kelly Tempalsky also had six kills to go with ten digs while freshman outside hitter Lauren Donnelly recorded dive kills, seven digs and two blocks
- Freshman setter Aubrey Pringle led the offense with 42 assists to go with five digs and five kills while junior libero Sam Love had a match-high 25 digs to go along with a pair of assists
- Junior defensive specialist Molly Hughes has nine digs and two assists while senior setter Ally Plitnick had two assists and sophomore defensive specialist Emma Granger posted three digs
