Love Selected as Landmark Conference Women’s Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior libero Sam Love has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women’s Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior libero Sam Love has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
Love averaged 8.43 digs per set to go with six assists and a service ace in a 1-1 week in Landmark Conference action. Love had 34 digs, four assists and a service ace in a 3-0 sweep of Elizabethtown College, and she had 25 digs and a pair of assists in a 3-1 loss to Susquehanna University.
"We're so happy for Sam," stated Head Women's Volleyball Coach Amable Martinez. "She has been working extremely hard at her craft, and it's been clicking for her the last 6-7 matches at a very high clip. She has a higher understanding of our defensive schemes and it's taking ownership of it, as a coach you love to see it!"
The Hounds are slated to return to action on Tuesday, October 14 in a Landmark Conference match at Wilkes University starting at 7:00 p.m.
