Greyhounds Fall in Five Sets at Susquehanna in Landmark Conference Tournament First Round
SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The fifth seeded Moravian University women’s volleyball squad fell to fourth seed and host Susquehanna University, 3-2, in a hard-fought match Tuesday evening in the 2025 Landmark Conference Tournament First Round.

How It Happened
- The River Hawks scored the first two points of the match, and Susquehanna jumped out to a 5-1 lead. The Greyhounds rallied back and knotted the set at 7-7. The teams traded three-point rallies, and the game was tied at 13-13 before Susquehanna pulled ahead by two. The Blue & Grey would counter and took a 19-18 edge. The squads traded one-point leads with Susquehanna forcing the set beyond 25 points. Both teams had five set-winning opportunities before the River Hawks captured a 34-32 win in the opening game for the 1-0 edge
- Susquehanna took an early 6-2 lead in the second set while the Greyhounds closed within a point at 7-6. The River Hawks eventually ran of six straight points to build a 19-12 advantage, and Susquehanna ran the lead out to 24-18 before Moravian scored seven straight points to move ahead 25-24. The Hounds posted a 29-27 set win to even the contest at 1-1
- The Blue & Grey scored the first two points of the third set before the River Hawks answered with nine of the next ten points to go up 9-3. The Hounds countered with a 7-1 run to tie the set at 10-10 while Susquehanna moved back on top 17-11 before winning the set 25-16 to move back in front, 2-1
- The Greyhounds took a quick 4-1 edge to start the fourth set while the River Hawks countered to make it 4-4. After Moravian scored four of five points, Susquehanna ran off four straight points to take a 9-8 edge. The River Hawks moved out to a 14-12 lead while the Hounds countered to take a 19-17 advantage. After Susquehanna knotted the set at 21-21 before the Blue & Grey scored four of the last six points to win the game 25-23 and force a fifth set after tying the contest at 2-2
- The River Hawks score three of the first four points in the fifth set before the Greyhounds tied the set at 3-3. Susquehanna countered with 11 more points for a 14-3 edge before Moravian scored again. The River Hawks ended up winning the set, 15-5, to capture the match
- The Greyhounds were playing in their first postseason match since the 2017 season, and the squad was making its ninth appearance in the Landmark Conference Tournament
Inside the Numbers
- Junior middle blocker Payton Reuber led Moravian with 15 kills to go with six digs and a pair of blocks while junior outside hitter Gabbie Reigner recorded 14 kills and 21 digs
- Freshman outside hitter Lauren Donnelly registered seven kills and 14 digs while sophomore middle blocker Kate McBrierty had seven kills
- Freshman middle blocker Morgan Holland posted four kills, five blocks and two digs while junior outside hitter Kelly Tempalsky added three kills and senior outside hitter Caroline Melillo had one kill
- Freshman setter Aubrey Pringle led the offense with 39 assists, 20 digs, four kills and a pair of service aces while senior setter Ally Plitnick had three assists and five digs
- Junior libero Sam Love paced the Hounds with 32 digs to go with five assists, three service aces and a kill while junior defensive specialist Molly Hughes added five digs
