Moravian Tied for 18th after Opening Day of AARTFC Indoor Championships
NEW YORK, N.Y. --- The Moravian University women’s indoor track & field squad is tied for 18th of 30 teams with five points after the first day of the 2026 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Indoor Championships at the New York City Armory Friday.

Moravian Results
- Senior Tara Smurla finished fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a personal best time of 17:24.56, the third fastest time in school history, to earn five points. Senior Meghan Myers recorded a personal best time of 18:24.24 to place 16th while junior Kayla O'Neil took 25th in a time of 18:54.40
- Sophomore Emma Shafnisky placed 17th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles in 9.22 seconds
- Senior Margie Rayne finished 17th in the shot put with a toss of 11.77 meters (38-7.5)
- Shafnisky took 16th in the long jump with a leap of 5.28 meters (17-4)
- The Greyhounds' quartet of senior Shai Knight, junior Rachele Grigoli and freshmen Morgan Tandy and Ligia Parada Garcia was 18th in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 4:06.21
