Moravian Women Win Six Events at Muhlenberg Invitational
ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s outdoor track & field team won six events and had a pair of All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying marks at the Muhlenberg College Invitational.

Moravian Event Winners
- Sophomore Emma Shafnisky won the long jump with a leap of 5.37 meters (17-7.5)
- Shafnisky also won the 100-meter hurdles in an AARTFC qualifying time of 15.41 seconds
- Sophomore Becca Caird finished first in the javelin with a toss of 32.82 meters (107-8)
- Senior Margie Rayne captured first in the shot put with a distance of 11.47 meters (37-7.75)
- Senior Shai Knight took first in the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.06 seconds
- Knight also won the 200-meter dash in 26.28 seconds
Moravian Top 10 Results
- Freshman Kiley Amend finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:34.18 while sophomore Caroline Emmerich was sixth in 13:58.34 and sophomore Celia Knoedler took seventh in 14:10.37
- Sophomore Kennedy Simons was the runner-up in the triple jump at 10.48 meters (34-4.75)
- Senior Heather Adams placed second in the discus with a toss of 34.24 meters (112-4) while sophomore Naaliyah Slater took ninth at 29.50 meters (96-9) and freshman Mikayla Kessler finished tenth at 26.95 meters (88-5)
- Sophomore Tessa Hopkins tied for second in the pole vault at a height of 2.90 meters (9-6.25) while sophomore Annika Petyk took fourth at 2.75 meters (9-0.25) and freshman Maddy Bennyhoff placed seventh at 2.30 meters (7-6.5)
- Senior Makenna Mersch placed second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:14.41
- Simons was the runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.32 seconds
- Junior Rachele Grigoli took second in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.49 while freshman Morgan Tandy finished fourth in 1:02.39, freshman Naomi Craig was seventh at 1:04.37, freshman Lachlyn Timms placed eighth in a time of 1:05.71 and freshman Grace Tsamutalis took tenth in 1:11.22
- Simons was also second in the 100-meter dash in 13.15 seconds while Shafnisky took fourth at 13.41 seconds and sophomore Katelyn Davis finished fifth in 14.01 seconds
- Sophomore Erika Dietz tied for third in the high jump at 1.42 meters (4-7.75) while freshman Cassidy Torraca was tied for fifth at 1.37 meters (4-6)
- Simons was third in the long jump at 5.03 meters (16-6) while Dietz finished fourth at PR distance of 4.98 meters (16-4.25), senior Ali Haefele placed sixth at 4.57 meters (15-0), sophomore Bella Fiore took seventh with a mark of 4.57 meters (15-0), Davis was eighth at 4.51 meters (14-9.75) and senior Caroline Melillo placed ninth at 4.44 meters (14-6.75)
- Freshman Kate Veivia finished third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:58.69 while junior Kayla O'Neil took fifth at 5:01.68, junior Kierstyn Klingner placed seventh in 5:08.14 and senior Tori Champagne was ninth at 5:10.92
- Freshman Natalia Smith placed third in the shot put with a toss of 11.10 meters (36-5) while senior Karalyn Vashey took seventh at 10.49 meters (34-5)
- Sophomore Jessica Heydt finished third in the hammer throw on Thursday with an AARTFC qualifying and PR toss of 47.30 meters (155-2), the seventh best throw in program history. Vashey was fourth at 42.84 meters (140-6) while Adams took 40.58 meters (133-1)
- Craig took third in the 200-meter dash in 27.88 seconds while Dietz was fourth in 28.00 seconds and Timms finished sixth in 28.81 seconds
- Junior Alexis Hockenberry was fourth in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 19:51.04 while junior Alyssa Hockenberry took fifth at 19:51.40
- Smith placed sixth in the javelin at 27.10 meters (88-11)
- Freshman Ligia Parada Garcia finished sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:26.47 while O'Neil was seventh in 2:30.67
