Greyhounds Finish as Runner-Up in 2026 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships
HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s outdoor track & field team finished as the runner-up at the 2026 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Juniata College after the second day of action Sunday.

How It Happened
- The Hounds scored 169.5 points while The University of Scranton took first with 196 points. The Catholic University of America was third at 125 points
- Moravian won a pair of individual titles in the 20 events with one on each day of the meet
- The Blue & Grey registered 14 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying marks over the two days including ten on Sunday
Moravian Event Winners
- Sophomore Emma Shafnisky captured the title in the 100-meter hurdles with an AARTFC qualifying time of 14.60 seconds to score ten points
Moravian Top 8 Scoring Finishes
- Junior Alexis Hockenberry was the runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 12:03.77 to score eight points while junior Alyssa Hockenberry took third at 12:14.51 to earn six points and freshman Kiley Amend placed sixth in 12:42.20 to garner three points
- The Greyhounds' 4x100-meter relay squad of Shafnisky, senior Shai Knight, sophomore Kennedy Simons and freshman Morgan Tandy finished second in an AARTFC qualifying time of 49.04 seconds to pick up eight points
- Simons was the runner-up in the triple jump with an AARTFC qualifying leap of 11.15 meters (36-7) to score eight points while senior Ali Haefele was third with an AARTFC qualifying mark of 11.06 meters (36-3.5) for six points
- Junior Rachele Grigoli placed third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 59.83 seconds to score six points while Knight took fourth in 59.89 seconds to garner five points
- Sophomore Becca Caird finished third in the javelin with a PR and AARTFC qualifying toss of 35.45 meters (116-3) to earn six points
- Senior Margie Rayne placed third in the discus with an AARTFC qualifying toss of 39.54 meters (129-8) to score six points while senior Heather Adams finished fifth at 35.27 meters (115-8) to garner four points and senior Karalyn Vashey was seventh with a toss of 33.48 meters (109-10) to earn two points
- Haefele finished third in the high jump with an AARTFC qualifying height of 1.58 meters (5-2.25) to record six points while freshman Cassidy Torraca took seventh at a PR height of 1.48 meters (4-10.25)
- The Hounds' 4x400-meter relay team of Knight, Grigoli, Tandy and freshman Ligia Parada Garcia placed fourth with an AARTFC qualifying time of 4:07.02 to net five points
- Senior Tara Smurla took placed sixth in the 5,000-meter run with an AARTFC qualifying time of 18:32.25 to score three points while freshman Kate Veivia was seventh in an AARTFC qualifying 18:33.55 to earn two points and junior Kayla O'Neil finished eighth at 18:36.68 to record one point
