Greyhounds Tenth after Opening Day of 2026 AARTFC Outdoor Championships
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s outdoor track & field team is tenth of 32 teams after the first day of action in the 2026 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Outdoor Championships Wednesday at Ursinus College.

Moravian Finishers
- Senior Tara Smurla finished as the runner-up in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 37:39.80 to score eight points while senior Tori Champagne was 22nd in 41:31.78
- Sophomore Emma Shafnisky placed fourth in the long jump with a personal best mark of 5.72 meters (18-9.25) to score five points for the Greyhounds. Shafnisky's mark is the fifth-best in program history
- Shafnisky ran a school record time of 14.44 seconds in the 100-meter hurdle preliminaries, finishing sixth to move onto the finals on Thursday
- The Hounds' 4x100-meter relay squad of Shafnisky, senior Shai Knight, sophomore Kenndy Simons and freshman Morgan Tandy was 15th in the preliminaries in a time of 48.99 seconds
- Junior Alexis Hockenberry took 15th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:34.72
- Sophomore Becca Caird finished 21st in the javelin with a toss of 31.56 meters (103-6)
- Moravian's 4x400-meter relay team of Knight, Tandy and freshman Naomi Craig and Ligia Parada Garcia finished 22nd in a time of 4:10.81
- Sophomore Jessica Heydt was 24th in the hammer throw with a toss of 43.42 meters (142-5)
- Freshman Kate Veivia placed 33rd in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:53.44 while junior Kayla O'Neil was 35th at 19:04.06
