Moravian Races Past William Paterson for Non-Conference Victory
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey squad scored three times in the first seven minutes of action to race out for an eventual 5-2 victory over visiting William Paterson University in non-conference action on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead in the second minute of play as senior forward Gia Ambrosino knocked in a loose ball after a shot from senior midfielder Megan Felmly, that had been saved
- The Blue & Grey made it 2-0 just two minutes later as sophomore forward Samantha Culver tapped in a ball off the goalie pads
- Moravian stretched the edge to 3-0 in the seventh minute as sophomore forward Shawna Mamrak tipped in a crossing pass from sophomore midfielder Sophia Calantoni
- The Hounds made it 4-0 with another goal in the 21st minute as Culver scored again, this time tipping in a pass from junior midfielder Maddie Snyder
- The Pioneers got onto the scoreboard in the 44th minute with a goal after a ball of the post
- Ambrosino would get the goal back just two minutes into the fourth quarter as she knocked in her own rebound for a 5-1 edge
- William Paterson scored again in the 56th minute for the final goal of the match
Inside the Numbers
- Ambrosino now has five goals in 2025, and she moved into a tie for ninth in program history with 26 career goals, and she is now tied for 12th with 57 career points
- Culver netted her first two goals of the season, and she now has four in her career while Mamrak scored her second of the fall and carer
- Felmly earned her first assist of the season and fifth of her career while Calantoni recorded her first career point. Snyder also recorded her first assist of the year and the second of her career
- Junior goalie Maia Machado posted a pair of saves in the first half while senior goalie Jessica Knox recorded four saves in the second half of the contest
- The Blue & Grey had a 26-13 advantage in shots and an 18-3 edge in penalty corners
