BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University Head Field Hockey Coach Sarah Dalrymple has stepped down from her position leading the Greyhounds.
"We are extremely grateful for Sarah's dedication and turnaround of our field hockey program over the past six years," commented Director of Athletics & Recreation Mary Beth Spirk. She changed the culture which then changed the success trajectory of our field hockey program. Sarah was also a valuable contributor in our department during her time with us. We wish her and her family all the best as they move into their next phase of their lives."
Dalrymple joined the Hounds in February 2020 but would not get onto the field to coach until the fall of 2021 due to the pandemic. In her five seasons leading Moravian, Dalrymple posted a 45-46 record with a 23-18 mark in Landmark Conference matches as she led the Blue & Grey to the Landmark Conference Tournament four times with a 3-4 mark in the postseason.
In her first season on the field in 2021, Dalrymple guided the Greyhounds to a school record 13-3 record and the program's first postseason appearance in 34 years. Moravian was 8-11 in 2022 and reached the Landmark Conference Championship match for the first time in program history. The Hounds posted a 9-9 mark in 2023, an 8-11 slate in 2024 and were 6-12 this past fall.
Dalrymple coached one Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Year, ten Landmark All-Conference First Team selections, ten Landmark All-Conference Second Team honorees and one Landmark All-Conference Honorable Mention pick as well as three National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Region V honorees. Off the field, Dalrymple's squads excelled in the classroom with 65 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll selections, 61 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad honorees and 11 NFHCA Scholar of Distinction award winners.
Moravian's national search for its next Head Field Hockey Coach will begin shortly.
