BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey team dropped a hard-fought, 2-1 decision to visiting Drew University in Landmark Conference action under the lights on John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening.
How It Happened
- The squads played a scoreless first quarter
- The Rangers got onto the scoreboard first with a goal in the 29th minute on a penalty corner
- The Greyhounds countered with just 2.6 seconds left in the first half as senior forward Gia Ambrosino blasted a long shot from just inside the top the circle into the upper right corner of the net to tie that match at 1-1 at the intermission
- Neither team found the net in the third quarter as the match remained knotted at 1-1
- Drew scored the winning goal on another penalty corner in the 52nd minute
Inside the Numbers
- Ambrosino's goal was her team-leading 13th of the season, and it raised her career total to 34, which is tied for third in program history
- Junior goalie Maia Machado posted a pair of saves in the contest
- The Blue & Grey held a 17-5 advantage in shots and an 11-3 edge in penalty corners in the match
