TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior Jerome Luckey has repeated as the Landmark Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honors for his performance last week.
Luckey took fourth in the high jump at the Widener University Indoor Classic at the Jane & David Ott Center at The University of Pennsylvania with an all-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying height of 2.05 meters (6-8.75). He was also 24th in the long jump with a distance of 6.12 meters (20-1).
"Jerome has been working a lot on his approach, and he has seen big improvements in his turn in practice so, we knew it was only a matter of time before he got into the NCAA qualifying heights," stated Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Jesse Baumann. "He was extremely close to some even higher bars on Saturday so we think he can show more over the next few weeks and possibly even contend for our school record!"
The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Friday, February 20 with the squad competing in the Penn State University Tune-Up and the throwers heading to the Kutztown University Golden Bear Invitational.
