TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University sophomore Julius Reyes has been honored as the Landmark Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.
Reyes finished second in the discus at the John & Carol Covert Classic at Lehigh University with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying distance of 45.24 meters (148-5), and he was sixth in the shot put with a toss of 13.82 meters (45-4.25). Reyes finished sixth in the hammer throw on Friday with a PR toss of 47.45 meters (155-8).
"Julius had a fantastic meet this past weekend at Lehigh to earn Landmark Field Athlete of the Week," stated Throwing Coach Jon D'Ottavio. "He threw personal bests in the hammer on Friday and then in the Shot Put on Saturday. His Discus mark was also close to a personal best and was all the more impressive considering it was 40 degrees and raining steadily during the competition. In all three events he had some very good series and also is really starting to apply what we've been working on in practice to the competition circle. We are hoping it's a sign of big marks to come over the next few weeks as we roll into championship season starting with Landmarks this weekend!"
Moravian is slated to return action on Saturday and Sunday, May 2-3 at the 2026 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships being hosted by Juniata College with action beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
