Weiss Wins Long Jump as Greyhounds Sit First after Opening Day at 2026 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships
HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian University men’s outdoor track & field team earned one event title and posted two All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying marks during the first day of the 2026 Landmark Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday being hosted by Juniata College.

The Hounds hold a 27-point lead the eight teams that have scored with 70 points while Susquehanna University is second with 43 points. Elizabethtown College is third with 41 points while The Catholic University of America is fourth with 40 points.
Moravian Event Winners
- Graduate student Kyle Weiss captured the long jump with a personal best leap of 6.79 meters (22-3.5) to garner ten points
Moravian Scoring Finishers
- Senior Jacob Fenstermaker took second in the long jump at 6.46 meters (21-2.5) for eight points while freshman Jayden Walls finished fifth at 6.36 meters (20-10.5) to earn four points and freshman Justin Nunes placed eight at 6.32 meters (20-9) to score one point
- Junior Anthony Morillo was the runner-up in the hammer thrown with a PR toss of 47.49 meters (155-9) to pick up eight points while sophomore Julius Reyes was sixth at 44.13 meters (144-9) for three points while sophomore Chris Petit-Frere took eighth at 42.67 meters (140-0) for one point
- Senior Bryan Kerchner placed third in the 1,500-meter run with an AARTFC qualifying time of 3:59.80 seconds to score six points while senior Joe Allegro took fifth in 4:05.81 for four points, junior Logan Betyeman finished sixth in 4:06.67 for three points and freshman Aiden Nieman was eighth in a PR time of 4:08.39 for one point
- Freshman Brady McKenna placed third in the pole vault at a height of 4.10 meters (13-5.25) to garner six points
- Morillo finished third in the shot put with a toss of 14.00 meters (45-11.25) to score six points while freshman Parker Hamilton took fourth at 13.84 meters (45-5) to earn five points
- Sophomore Riley Trigo placed fifth in the 10,000-meter run with a PR time of 32:31.78 to score four points
Preliminary Top 10 Results
- Fenstermaker had the fastest preliminary time in the 100-meter dash with a PR and AARTFC qualifying time of 10.67 seconds to move onto Sunday's final while sophomore CJ Moore was tenth in a PR time of 11.14 seconds
- Fenstermaker took third in the 200-meter dash preliminary in 22.18 seconds while Weiss was seventh in 22.43 seconds to advance to the finals on Sunday. Sophomore Owen Smith placed ninth in the prelim in 22.53 seconds
- Junior Mael Tshiyonga was sixth in the preliminaries of the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.91 seconds while senior Liam Maguire took eighth in 16.33 seconds as both qualified for the final race on Sunday
