Holtje Selected as Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior pitcher/outfielder Kyra Holtje has been selected as the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week.
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior pitcher/outfielder Kyra Holtje has been selected as the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week.
Holtje led Moravian to a 3-1 week including a 1-1 split with Wilkes University to begin the 2026 Landmark Conference season on Saturday. Holtje went 2-0 with a shutout, a 0.54 ERA, five strikeouts and no walks in 13 innings of action in the circle, and she posted a .417 batting average with five hits in 14 at-bats to go with two runs, a double, a homer, a pair of stolen bases and three RBIs. In the field, Holtje had two putouts and seven assists in nine chances in the field. Holtje had a pair of strikeouts in a 12-0, 6-inning shutout at Lebanon Valley College before recording three strikeouts in a 3-1 victory versus Wilkes University in the circle.
"Kyra was dominant in her two outings this past week, inducing a lot of soft contact and fielding her position very well," stated Head Softball Coach Josh Baltz. "She pitched and played with confidence, contributed solidly in right field, and had quality at-bats offensively. She's being asked to do a lot right now and is making the most of every opportunity."
Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, March 24 in a non-conference doubleheader at rival Muhlenberg College beginning at 3:00 p.m.
