Andrews Selected as Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior third baseman Sydney Andrews has been selected as the Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week for her performances last week.
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior third baseman Sydney Andrews has been selected as the Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week for her performances last week.
Andrews was 4-for-8 with three runs, two homers and seven RBIs in Moravian's sweep of Juniata College in Landmark Conference action to close out the regular season. Andrews hit two homers, a two-run shot and a grand slam, in game two that the Hounds' won 15-2 in five innings. Andrews also had two putouts and three assists in five chances at third base.
"Sydney has been as consistent as it gets, both offensively and defensively," commented Head Coach Josh Baltz. "She plays the game with confidence and toughness and has been a steady presence for us all season. She's been outstanding throughout the regular season and has truly been a joy to coach."
Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday, May8 in a Landmark Conference Tournament at Blue & Grey Field as the top seeded Greyhounds will face the winner of the #4 Susquehanna University vs. #5 Wilkes University first round game at 1:00 p.m.
