Moravian Splits with Wilkes to Open Landmark Conference Slate
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University softball squad split with visiting Wilkes University, falling 2-0 in the opener and winning the second game 3-1, at Blue & Grey Field Saturday to begin the 2026 Landmark Conference season.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University softball squad split with visiting Wilkes University, falling 2-0 in the opener and winning the second game 3-1, at Blue & Grey Field Saturday to begin the 2026 Landmark Conference season.
How It Happened – Game #1
- The Colonels scored the only two runs of the opener in the top of the third inning with a pair of unearned runs
- Senior Sarah DeStefano made the start in the circle and had six strikeouts while allowing a pair of unearned runs
How It Happened – Game #2
- The Hounds took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning on a two-out solo home run to left field by junior second baseman Emma Grace Pachkowski, her first career homer
- Moravian stretched the lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth as senior catcher Marcie Silberman connected on a solo homer to center field, her first home run of the season and 39th of her career
- Wilkes cut the score to 2-1 with a run in the top of the fifth inning
- The Greyhounds added an insurance run in the bottom half of the fifth to make it 3-1. Freshman left fielder Natalie Chloros drew a leadoff walk before singles from DeStefano and sophomore designated player Amelia Noll loaded the bases. Pachkowski lifted a sacrifice fly to center to score Chloros
- Junior Kyra Holtje started in the circle and posted three strikeouts in the victory
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian registered 13 hits in the doubleheader with DeStefano going 3-for-6
- Silberman was 2-for-6 with a run, an RBI and a homer while Holtje and junior center fielder Shayla Morgan each had two hits
- Pachkowski posted two RBIs with a hit, a run and a homer while Chloros also had a hit and a run
- Noll and senior shortstop Samantha Derickson both had one hit
