TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior Kyra Holtje has been named as the Landmark Conference Softball Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
Holtje went 6-for-10 with three doubles, two runs, a stolen base and five RBIs as the No. 12 Greyhounds split at No. 10 Christopher Newport (Va.) University to open the 2026 season. Holtje saw action in right field, in the circle and as a designated player in the contests, and she recorded three strikeouts in 3.2 innings of action.
"Kyra got off to a strong start offensively and had great production in both games of our doubleheader," stated Head Softball Coach Josh Baltz. "She was seeing the ball really well, which resulted in a lot of hard-hit balls. Kyra also made key contributions defensively, both in the outfield and in the circle."
Moravian is slated to return to action on Monday, March 9 as the squad begins its trip to The Spring Games in Clermont, Florida with games against Alfred (N.Y.) University and Case Western Reserve (Ohio) University.
