Five Greyhounds Selected to 2026 Landmark Softball All-Conference Teams; DeStefano & Holtje Garner Major Awards
TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian University softball team has had five student-athletes selected to the 2026 Landmark All-Conference Teams senior pitcher/outfielder Sarah DeStefano named as the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year for the second straight season and junior pitcher/utility player Kyra Holthe honored as Landmark Conference Player of the Year.
TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian University softball team has had five student-athletes selected to the 2026 Landmark All-Conference Teams senior pitcher/outfielder Sarah DeStefano named as the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year for the second straight season and junior pitcher/utility player Kyra Holtje honored as Landmark Conference Player of the Year.
Four of the five Hounds to garner All-Conference accolades were named to the First Team including Holtje, DeStefano, senior third baseman Sydney Andrews and sophomore first baseman Kaley Hoffman. Senior catcher Marcie Silberman was selected to the All-Conference Second Team.
The Greyhounds are 29-9 this season including a 14-2 mark to earn the top seed and right to host the 2026 Landmark Conference Tournament at Blue & Grey Field May 8-10.
"I'm incredibly proud of Sarah, Kyra, Sydney, Kaley, and Scoot," stated fourth-year Head Coach Josh Baltz. "Their recognition is a direct reflection of their hard work and dedication, and it has been a privilege to coach them and watch them mature and grow both on the field and off!"
DeStefano, who was the 2023 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year, the 2025 Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year, member of the All-Conference First Team as a pitcher in 2025 and member of the All-Conference Second Team as a pitcher in 2023 and as an outfielder in 2024, is third Greyhound to be named as the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year in back-to-back seasons and first since Josie Novak in 2016-18 with Moravian accounting for a total of 13 conference pitchers of the year since 2008. This spring, DeStefano is 13-5 in the circle with a 1.30 ERA to go with five shutouts, 13 complete games and 83 strikeouts and just 23 walks and 98 hits allowed in 118.1 innings of action. DeStefano has also recorded a .343 average at the plate while starting in right field when not pitching, and she has 36 hits, 17 runs, one double, one triple, 23 RBIs to go with 24 putouts and 21 assists. So far in her Moravian career, DeStefano is 53-14 with 52 complete games in 74 appearances to go with a 1.51 ERA, 20 shutouts and 324 strikeouts in 448.2 innings, and at the plate, she has a .369 career average with 145 hits, 60 runs, 11 doubles, five triples, 79 RBIs and 27 stolen bases in 171 games.

Since returning from Florida, she has really thrived in the circle and has been the dominant pitcher we have seen for her career. Congrats to Sarah for this Honor!"
Holtje, who made the Landmark All-Conference First Team in 2025, is the ninth different Moravian player to be selected as the Landmark Conference Player of the Year with the Hounds having a total of ten conference players of the year since 2008. This season, Holtje is hitting .416 with 52 hits, 35 runs, 14 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 31 RBIs, 15 walks and 14 stolen, and she is 10-3 in the circle with a 1.95 ERA, four shutouts, 48 strikeouts, 16 walks and 89 hits allowed in 86 innings of action. Holtje, who has seen action as a pitcher, right fielder, first baseman and designated player this spring, has added 30 putouts and 26 assists in the field. In her three seasons, Holtje has a .349 average in 99 career games with 90 hits, 67 runs, 21 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 70 RBIs, 26 walks and 20 stolen bases to go with a 22-5 mark, a 1.97 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 174 innings of action.

"Kyra has swung the bat exceptionally well all season—hitting for both power and average—while also bringing great speed and a strong understanding of how to work an at-bat. She has pitched great in the circle and has played different positions to help the team! Congrats to Kyra for this Honor!"
Andrews, who was on the All-Conference First Team a year ago and the Second Team in 2024, has a .402 average, 51 hits, 36 runs, ten doubles, four triples, three home runs, 44 RBIs, 14 walks and seven stolen bases to go with 23 putouts and 99 assists in the field in her third season at Moravian after playing her freshman campaign at Cabrini University. Andrews has also tossed 4.2 innings in the circle with three strikeouts and a 1.50 ERA. In 125 games with the Hounds, Andrews has 125 hits, 73 runs, 21 doubles, six triples, three homers, 82 RBIs, 32 walks, 14 stolen bases and a .347 average to go along with 65 putouts and 262 assists at third base, and she has pitched 28.1 innings with 13 strikeouts and a 2-4 mark.
"Sydney has been a constant force for us both offensively and defensively," Baltz said. "She consistently puts together great at-bats, can hit for both power and average, and is one of the best third basemen in the country. Congrats to Syd for this Honor!"
Silberman, who made the All-Conference First Team in 2023, 2024 and 2025, is hitting .252 with 29 hits, 11 runs, six doubles, four homers and 17 RBIs this season. In 168 games in her four seasons, Silberman has 153 hits, 83 runs, 35 doubles, a triple, a school and Landmark Conference record 42 homers and 153 RBIs to go with a .335 average, 652 putouts, 53 assists and 20 runners caught stealing.
"Congratulations to Scoot. While she may not have had the year, she initially hoped for, her support for her teammates and her leadership never wavered," Baltz commented. "She has the ability to change a game with one swing, and we're excited to see the impact she'll have throughout the postseason. Congrats to Scoot for this Honor!"
Hoffman moved into the starting line-up at first base this season, and she is hitting .388 with 31 hits, 20 runs, eight doubles, ten walks and 14 RBIs to go with 234 putouts and six assists. Hoffman has 43 hits, 24 runs, nine doubles, a triple, two home runs, 14 walks and 22 RBIs to go with 248 putouts and seven assists in 55 career games.
"Kaley has had a tremendous finish to her sophomore season," stated Baltz. "She's seeing the ball very well offensively and has the ability to drive it to all fields. When she started to put things together it really coincided with our team playing our best softball. Congrats to Kaley for this Honor!"
