Holtje Named Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior pitcher/right fielder Kyra Holtje has been named as the Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week for her performance last week.
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior pitcher/right fielder Kyra Holtje has been named as the Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week for her performance last week.
Holtje, who has been the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week twice this spring, led Moravian at the plate with a .500 batting average in a 3-1 week in Landmark Conference action to clinch a berth in the Landmark Conference Tournament. She was 8-for-16 with five runs, six RBIs, two doubles and two homers for a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .529 on-base percentage. Holtje had six putouts and an assist, and she was 1-0 in the circle with a 3.00 ERA and two strikeouts in seven innings of action over two appearances. Holtje was 3-for-8 with a run in a doubleheader split at Scranton, and she was 5-for-8 with two doubles, two homers, three runs and six RBIs in a sweep at Lycoming.
"Kyra continues to swing a hot bat and carry us offensively," stated Head Coach Josh Baltz. "She can hit in any count, hit for average, and has hit for power!"
Moravian is scheduled to return to the diamond on Tuesday, April 21 in a non-conference doubleheader versus York College of Pennsylvania beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Blue & Grey Field.
