Greyhounds Sweep Elizabethtown on Senior Day to Clinch Top Seed in 2026 Landmark Conference Tournament
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University softball team swept visiting Elizabethtown College, 5-1 and 9-1 in six innings, in Landmark Conference action on Senior Day at Blue & Grey Field Sunday as the Hounds clinched the top seed and right to host the 2026 Landmark Conference Tournament.

How It Happened – Game #1
- The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Freshman left fielder Natalie Chloros led off with a single. After a walk to junior designated player Kyra Holtje, Chloros raced home when senior shortstop Samantha Derickson reached on an error
- The Blue & Grey added a run in the bottom of the second for a 2-0 edge. Senior catcher Marcie Silberman led off with a single before freshman Nicole Giglio came into pinch run. Giglio stole second before coming into score on an RBI single from junior center fielder Shayla Morgan
- Moravian scored three times in the bottom of the third to make it 5-0. Holtje connected on a one-out double while Derickson drew a walk. Senior pitcher Sarah DeStefano ripped an RBI single to score Holtje while Silberman connected on an RBI double to chase Derickson home. Sophomore first baseman Kaley Hoffman added an RBI double to score DeStefano
- The Blue Jays got on the scoreboard with a run in the top of the sixth frame
- DeStefano started in the circle, and she recorded six strikeouts for the victory
- Prior to the game, Moravian honored seniors Sydney Andrews, Madison Berning, Samantha Derickson, Sarah DeStefano, Kayla Krausse, Natalie Otto, Marcie Silberman, Kendall Szor and Emma Wariwanchik
How It Happened – Game #2
- Elizabethtown scored a quick run in the top of the first to start the second contest
- The Hounds countered with two runs in the bottom half of the first to take a 2-1 lead. Senior third baseman Sydney Andrews singled with one out before Holtje connected on a two-run homer to right field, her team-leading fifth home run of the season and ninth of her career
- Moravian plated six runs in the bottom of the fourth to stretch the advantage to 8-1. Hoffman reached on an error and sophomore catcher Sydney Scarpato was safe on a fielder's choice before Hoffman raced home on a failed pickoff attempt. Morgan followed with a fielder's choice while Chloros singled. Andrews ripped a two-RBI double as Morgan and Chloros scored. Holtje followed with an RBI double as Andrews raced home while Derickson connected on an RBI double to bring Holtje home. DeStefano drove in Derickson with an RBI single
- The Greyhounds added a run in the bottom of the sixth to end the game with the run-rule. Chloros and Andrews started the frame with singles while Derickson connected on an RBI single to score Chloros
- Holtje pitched five innings with one strikeout while senior Natalie Otto tossed the final inning of the contest
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian registered 20 hits in the doubleheader with Holtje going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBIs, a pair of doubles and a homer
- Derickson was also 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBIs and a double while Silberman went 3-for-6 with an RBI and a double
- Andrews collected three hits, two runs, two RBIs and a double while Chloros added three hits and scored three times
