Four Hounds Selected to 2026 NFCA Division III All-Region V Teams
LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Moravian University senior pitcher/outfielder Sarah DeStefano and junior utility player Kyra Holtje have been selected to the 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-Region V First Team while senior third baseman Sydney Andrews earned a spot on the All-Region Second Team and junior centerfielder Shayla Morgan was honored on the Third Team.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Moravian University senior pitcher/outfielder Sarah DeStefano and junior utility player Kyra Holtje have been selected to the 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-Region V First Team while senior third baseman Sydney Andrews earned a spot on the All-Region Second Team and junior centerfielder Shayla Morgan was honored on the Third Team.
All-Region players are nominated and selected by NFCA member coaches in each of the ten Division III regions. All the All-Region choices are eligible for selection to the NFCA All-America team, which will be announced on May 27.
The Greyhounds are currently 35-10 on the season with the squad in the midst of its 22nd appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Moravian hosted and won the NCAA Division III Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Regional at Blue & Grey Field this past week, and the Hounds are set to travel to No. 5 Linfield (Ore.) University in the program's fifth NCAA Division III Super Regional on May 21-22. Moravian won its fourth straight and 13th overall Landmark Conference title this year and the program's 21st conference title since 2000. The Landmark Conference had a total of nine All-Region V honorees.
DeStefano, who was on the 2025 NFCA All-Region V First Team and the 2023 NFCA All-Region V Second Team, repeated as the 2026 Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year to go with a spot on the All-Conference First Team for a second consecutive spring. DeStefano, who was the 2023 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and Landmark All-Conference Second Team, is 17-6 in the circle this season to go with a save, 106 strikeouts, just 31 walks and a 125 ERA in 156.1 innings to go along with a .349 average, 45 hits, 19 runs, one double, one triples, 26 RBIs and ten stolen bases at the plate. DeStefano, who was honored as the 2025 and 2026 NCAA Division III Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Regional Most Outstanding Player and the 2023 NCAA Division III Medford, Massachusetts Regional MOP, has posted a 57-15 mark in the circle in her career to go with two saves, 48 complete games, 347 strikeouts and a 1.48 ERA in 486.2 innings of action, and she also had 154 hits, 62 runs, 11 doubles, five triples, 28 stolen bases and 82 RBIs in four seasons.
Holtje, who made the All-Region First Team as a utility/pitcher after making the All-Region Third Team in 2025, has seen action as a pitcher, designated player, first base and right fielder for Moravian this season, and she was honored as the 2026 Landmark Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference utility player. Holtje, who earned a spot on the 2025 Landmark All-Conference First Team as a designated player, has a .399 average this spring with 59 hits, 39 runs, 15 doubles, three triples, seven homers, 16 stolen bases, 17 walks and 36 RBIs at the plate while going 12-3 in the circle with a 1.84 ERA, five shutouts and 57 strikeouts in 99 innings of action. In three seasons, Holtje has a .345 average while recording 97 hits, 71 runs, 22 doubles, three triples, 11 homers, 22 stolen bases, 28 walks and 75 RBIs to go with a 24-5 record, a 1.91 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 187 innings of work.
Andrews, who made the All-Region squad for the first time, was selected to the Landmark All-Conference First Team in 2025 and 2026, and she made the Second Team in 2024. Andrews is hitting .383 this spring with 57 hits, 42 runs, 11 doubles, four triples, three homers, ten stolen bases, 17 walks and 33 RBIs at the plate to go along with 122 assists and 33 putouts. In three seasons at Moravian after transferring, Andrews has a .345 average while recording 131 hits, 79 runs, 22 doubles, six triples, three homers, 17 stolen bases, 35 walks and 82 RBIs to go 285 assists and 75 putouts at third base.
Morgan earned her first All-Region honor by making the Third Team, and she was on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in 2024 and 2025. Morgan is hitting .330 this spring with 36 hits, 27 runs, one double, one home run, 20 stolen bases, 18 walks and 11 RBIs at the plate to go along with 51 putouts and two assists in center field. In three seasons at Moravian, Morgan has a .347 average with 96 hits, 71 runs, one double, two triples, one homer, 57 stolen bases, 27 walks and 20 RBIs to go 153 putouts and three assists.
