Hounds Fall to DeSales in Non-Conference Action

How It Happened
- The Bulldogs netted the first four points of the contest before junior forward Grace Steffen sank a free throw to get the Greyhounds on the scoreboard. The Blue & Grey pulled within a point at 6-5 on two free throws by junior guard Lizzie Lustig, and it was 8-7 DeSales after a lay-up from sophomore guard Ellie Wallbillich midway through the first quarter. From that point, the Bulldogs used a 14-6 run to end the period with a 22-13 advantage
- DeSales kept the edge in double figures throughout the second period to head to the intermission with a 35-23 lead
- The Bulldogs led the entire second half with the largest advantage of 23 points coming in the fourth quarter
Inside the Numbers
- Lustig led the Greyhounds with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists, followed by Steffen with nine points, 10 rebounds, three blocks and one steal
- Senior guard Juliana Vassallo and Wallbillich each totaled seven points and two steals. Wallibich had five rebounds while Vassallo totaled two rebounds
- Junior forward Lanie Herbert had five points off the bench for the Hounds with six rebounds while sophomore guard Kylie Cabana had a career-high six assists with four points off the bench
- Freshman guard Megan Elias and senior guard Jayda Cartagena also contributed points for the Hounds.
- The Hounds shot 18-52 from the field (34.6 percent), and 9-for-16 at the foul line
- The Blue & Grey had 41 rebounds on the day with 24 points in the paint
