How It Happened
- The Greyhounds scored the first basket of the game on a jumper from sophomore guard Ellie Wallbillich. The teams traded baskets with the Hounds leading 8-6 on a jumper by junior guard Lizzie Lustig at the 3:16 mark. The Blue Jays countered with an 11-3 run to end the quarter with a 17-11 edge
- Elizabethtown began the second quarter with five points to make it 22-11 before a three-pointer from Lustig stopped the run. The Blue Jays were up ten, 29-19, with 3:25 to play in the opening half when Moravian went on a 9-2 run to get within three points at 31-28 on a lay-up from senior guard Jayda Cartagena with 30 seconds left in the period. Elizabethtown added two free throws to head to the intermission with a 33-28 advantage
- The Blue & Grey kept the score within five points early in the second half, trailing 42-37 with 5:21 to play on a lay-up by sophomore forward Kate Donaldson. However, Elizabethtown would stretch its edge to 59-46 after 30 minutes of action
- The final quarter saw the Greyhounds work on closing the deficit to four points at 63-59 when Lustig sank a free throw at the 5:33 mark. However, that would be as close as Moravian would get as the Blue Jays put the game away at the foul line, making all nine of their shots from the charity stripe in the final three and a half minutes
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had three players score in double figures led Lustig, who netted 18 points to go with four rebounds and two steals
- Wallbillich finished with 14 points and four rebounds, and a pair of steals
- Vassallo tossed in ten points to go with three rebounds and one assist while junior forward Grace Steffen had eight points, a team-high 12 boards and four steals
- Sophomore guard Megan Elias registered eight points, two rebounds, two steals, and two assists
- The Greyhounds added 17 points and nine rebounds from the bench including three points by sophomore guard Mallory Elias and two each from Cartagena and Donaldson
- The Hounds shot 24-for-57 from the field, 3-for-11 on three-pointers and 15-for-23 at the foul line, and the Blue & Grey forced the Blue Jays into 10 turnovers
