Greyhound Clinch Landmark Conference Tournament Berth with Victory over Lycoming in Play4Kay Game
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s basketball squad clinched the program’s 16th berth to the Landmark Conference Tournament with a 75-61 come-from-behind win over Lycoming College in Johnston Hall Saturday as the Greyhounds hosted their annual Alumni Game and Play4Kay game to raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

How It Happened
- The Warriors scored the opening basket before sophomore guard Kylie Cabana hit a jumper to knot the score. Lycoming ran off the next nine points to build an 11-2 edge while the Hounds countered with a three-pointer by senior guard Jayda Cartagena and a jumper from sophomore guard Ellie Wallbillich to cut it to 11-7. The Warriors stayed hot from the field and used a 12-5 run to end the quarter with a 23-12 advantage
- Cabana hit a basket to start the second quarter, however, Lycoming pushed out to a 12-point lead at 34-22 with 6:21 on the clock. The Warriors still had a double-digit lead with 4:49 to go in the half, up 36-26. Junior guard Lizzie Lustig and Cartagena netted three-pointers to get Moravian within four at 36-32, but Lycoming took a 40-32 edge into the intermission
- For the third quarter in a row, Cabana found the basket to get the Greyhounds going. Moravian slowly chipped away at the deficit with Lycoming's lead down to two points, 46-44, with just under four minutes left in the third period. Senior guard Juliana Vassallo tied the contest with a jumper, and sophomore guard Megan Elias drained a three-pointer to put the Hounds up for good at 49-46 with 2:48 left in the third. The Blue & Grey finished the quarter with an 11-0 run to lead 55-46 after 45 minutes of action
- The Greyhounds, who outscored the Warriors 43-21 in the second half, pushed the advantage out to 19 points, 72-53, with 4:31 remaining on an Elias jumper
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had four players score in double figures led by Cabana, who had a career-high 14 points to go with four rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals
- Lustig and Wallbillich each netted 13 points with Lustig adding seven boards, three assists and two blocked shots and Wallbillich pulling down nine rebounds to go along with three assists and two steals
- Cartagena finished with 11 points, four rebounds and two assists while junior forward Lanie Herbert contributed eight points and seven boards
- Vassallo posted six points, three rebounds and a pair of steals while Elias and freshman guard Abby Hayes both had three points and two rebounds with Hayes dishing out three assists and Elias adding two helpers
- Sophomore guard Mallory Elias scored Moravian's other four points while sophomores forward Kate Donaldson and guard Kylie Sheridan both grabbed two rebounds
- The Hounds shot 30-for-71 from the field, 8-for-21 on three-pointers and 7-for-11 at the foul line, and the Blue & Grey forced the Warriors into 13 turnovers while committing just nine
- Moravian heled a 48-36 edge on the glass including 12-4 on offensive rebounds
