Greyhounds Fall to Susquehanna University on Senior Day
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s basketball squad rallied to tie the game in the fourth quarter before a 13-0 by visiting Susquehanna University gave the River Hawks a 69-58 win over the Greyhounds in Landmark Conference action in Johnston Hall Saturday as the Hounds celebrated Senior Day.

How It Happened
- The Blue & Grey opened the scoring with a jumper from senior guard Jayda Cartagena, and a putback basket by junior forward Lanie Herbert knotted the score at 4-4 with 7:32 on the clock. The River Hawks scored the next five points and would build a 13-6 edge before sophomore guard Kylie Cabana connected on a three-pointer and junior forward Grace Steffen had a lay-up to pull the Hounds within two at 13-11. Susquehanna netted the final two points of the first quarter to lead 15-11 after ten minutes of action
- Sophomore guard Ellie Wallbillich began the second quarter with a lay-up, and the Greyhounds moved back in front, 17-16, on a jumper by junior guard Lizzie Lustig with 6:10 on the clock. The squads traded the lead four times before Moravian built a 25-20 advantage on a Wallbillich three-pointer with 1:57 remaining in the half. Sophomore guard Megan Elias sent the Hounds to the intermission with a 27-24 edge on a late free throw
- Wallbillich sank a pair of free throws to open the scoring in the second half for a 29-24 advantage. However, Susquehanna went on a 10-0 run to move ahead 34-29 with 4:17 on the clock. Wallbillich ended the run with a jumper, but the River Hawks stretched the lead to eight points, 47-39, at the end of the third quarter on a three-quarter court shot
- Susquehanna pushed its lead out to nine points at 54-45 with 7:05 remaining when the Blue & Grey put together a 9-0 run over the next three and a half minutes to knot the score at 54-54 with 4:22 to go on a pair of Cabana free throws. The River Hawks countered with the 13-0 run as Moravian would not score again until a lay-up from sophomore forward Kate Donaldson with just 46 seconds to play
- Prior to the game, Moravian honored senior guards Jayda Cartagena and Juliana Vassallo and junior forward Lanie Herbert, who is graduating early, for their careers with the Greyhounds' program
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had three players score in double figures with Cabana netting a career-high 13 points to go with four rebounds
- Wallbillich finished with 11 points and four boards while Lustig added ten points and four rebounds
- Elias contributed six points and three assists while Steffen had five points and three boards
- Herbert and Cartagena both netted four points with Herbert posting four rebounds and two assists and Cartagena grabbing three boards
- Vassallo registered three points and two rebounds while Donaldson had two points
- The Hounds shot 21-for-54 from the field (38.9 percent), 3-for-16 on three-pointers and 13-for-15 at the foul line
