Moravian Drops Non-Conference Contest to Lebanon Valley
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s basketball team dropped a 73-56 decision to visiting Lebanon Valley College in non-conference action Saturday afternoon in Johnston Hall.

How It Happened
- The Flying Dutchmen opened the scoring with a three-pointer while senior guard Juliana Vassallo hit a three-pointer for the Hounds to knot the score at 3-3. The teams traded three-pointers again with sophomore guard Megan Elias connecting for the Greyhounds before another three-pointer from Vassallo giving Moravian a 9-8 edge at the 6:44 mark. LVC slowly pushed ahead to hold a 27-15 advantage after ten minutes of action
- The Blue & Grey netted six of the first eight points in the second quarter to get within eight points at 29-21 on a Vassallo jumper with 7:36 on the clock. However, the Flying Dutchmen controlled most of the quarter to lead 43-30 at the intermission
- Moravian scored the first six points of the third quarter with baskets from junior guard Ellie Wallbillich, Vassallo and junior guard Lizzie Lustig to cut the deficit to seven points at 43-36. However, the Hounds were limited to three points the remainder of the quarter as LVC led 53-39 after 30 minutes of play
- The Flying Dutchmen kept the advantage in double digits throughout the fourth quarter
Inside the Numbers
- Vassallo led the Greyhounds with 15 points while Elias had nine points, six assists and three boards
- Senior guard Jayda Cartagena also tossed in nine points to go along with four rebounds and a pair of steals while Lustig finished with eight points, three rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals
- Sophomore guard Kylie Cabana added five points and two rebounds while junior forward Grace Steffen posted four points, four rebounds and two steals and freshman guard Abby Hayes registered four points
- Wallbillich had two points, two assist and two boards while junior forward Lanie Herbert pulled down eight rebounds
- The Hounds shot 23-for-74 from the field (31.1 percent), 7-for-22 on three-pointers and 3-for-5 at the foul line
