Greyhounds Fall to Susquehanna in Landmark Conference Action on the Road

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds opened the scoring on a lay-up by junior forward Lanie Herbert, and the Blue & Grey held a 6-1 lead after a jumper from senior guard Juliana Vassallo. The River Hawks netted the next seven points to move ahead 8-6 while the Hounds retook a 12-10 edge on a three-pointer by senior guard Jayda Cartagena at the 3:42 mark. Susquehanna countered and led 19-16 after ten minutes of action
- The Rivers Hawks scored first in the second quarter and moved out to an eight-point edge at 31-23 at the 4:30 mark. Susquehanna would go up by nine points at 34-25 before a 10-1 from the Greyhounds capped by a jumper from sophomore guard Ellie Wallbillich made it a one-point game in the final minute of the half. However, the River Hawks drained a late three-pointer to take a 39-35 advantage to the locker room
- Herbert sank a free throw to start the second half and make it a three-point game, and the Hounds trailed 42-38 on a jumper from junior forward Grace Steffen at the 7:25 mark. Susquehanna then went on a 16-0 run to take a 58-38 edge with just under three minutes to go in the third quarter. Junior guard Lizzie Lustig ended the run with a jumper, but the Blue & Grey still trailed 64-43 after 30 minutes of play
- Wallbillich and sophomore guard Megan Elias scored baskets to start the fourth quarter for Moravian; however, the River Hawks maintained a double-digit lead throughout the period
Inside the Numbers
- Lustig paced Moravian with 12 points to go with six rebounds and a pair of assists while Cartagena netted nine points
- Vassallo finished with eight points and two boards while Steffen added seven points and four rebounds
- Herbert and sophomore guard Kylie Cabana both had six points with Herbert contributing seven rebounds and Cabana grabbing three boards
- Wallbillich posted four points and two rebounds while junior forward Bellisima Lew recorded three points and five rebounds
- Sophomore guard Mallory Elias had three points while Megan Elias scored two points
- The Hounds were 23-for-63 from the floor (36.5 percent), 2-for-7 on three-pointers and 12-for-19 at the foul line
