Moravian Falls at Drew to End First Half of Landmark Conference Slate

How It Happened
- The Rangers scored the first ten points of the game with the Greyhounds getting on the scoreboard with a lay-up by junior forward Grace Steffen at the 5:56 mark. The Blue & Grey got within six points at 12-6 on two free throws from senior guard Jayda Cartagena; however, Drew led 21-12 after ten minutes of action
- Steffen opened the scoring in the second quarter, and Moravian got within three points at 26-23 with 3:55 left in the first half as junior forward Lanie Herbert sank a lay-up. The Rangers countered with a 7-2 run to take a 33-25 edge into the intermission
- The Greyhounds had a 10-3 run to start the second half, getting within a point at 36-35 on a jumper from junior guard Lizzie Lustig with 5:28 left in the third quarter. Drew stretched its advantage back to 45-37 after 30 minutes of play with a 9-2 run
- The closest the Hounds could get in the fourth quarter was six points at 53-47 on two free throws by senior guard Juliana Vassallo with 4:43 remaining
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had two players score in double figures led by Steffen, who had 12 points to go with 12 rebounds and two assists, her fourth career double-double and first of the season, while Lustig finished with 10 points, one steal, six rebounds, and one assist
- Four Greyhounds – freshman guard Abby Hayes, sophomore guard Megan Elias, sophomore guard Ellie Wallbillich and Vassallo all finished with six points with Hayes leading with four rebounds and two assists
- Herbert and Cartagena each finished with four points
- The Hounds shot 23-for-64 from the field (35.9 percent), and 8-for-12 at the foul line. The Blue & Grey also had a 36-32 scoring advantage in the paint
