Moravian Falls to No. 2 Scranton in Landmark Conference Action

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds opened the scoring with a jumper from sophomore guard Ellie Wallbillich, and the Hounds led 6-4 on a jumper by Lizzie Lustig. Moravian took an 8-6 edge when senior guard Juliana Vassallo sank a jumper in the lane, and sophomore guard Kylie Cabana had the Blue & Grey up 10-9 on a jumper at the 4:03 mark. However, the Royals held the Hounds scoreless for the rest of the quarter while running off 11 consecutive points to lead 20-10 after ten minutes of action
- Cabana began the second quarter scoring with two free throws, and a three-point play by Lustig had Moravian down 24-17 with 5:24 remaining in the half. Scranton finished the second period with a 20-2 run tot head to the intermission with a 44-19 advantage
- The Royals controlled the tempo and the score throughout the second half with the Blue & Grey unable to close the gap
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had two players score nine points with Cabana netting nine points to go with five rebounds and Lustig with nine points and four boards
- Sophomore guard Mallory Elias tied her career high with seven points off the bench while sophomore guard Megan Elias added six points off the bench and each adding a blocked shot
- Vassallo and senior guard Jayda Cartagena each netted five points and three assists while Wallbillich had four points, five boards, four assists, one blocked shot and one steal.
- The Hounds shot 17-for-51 from the field (33.3 percent), 6-for-17 on three-pointers and 7-for-7 at the foul line
