Vozzo Named Moravian Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Week
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Sophomore shortstop David Vozzo from the Moravian University baseball squad has been named as the Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Sophomore shortstop David Vozzo from the Moravian University baseball squad has been named as the Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.
Vozzo led the Greyhounds at the plate during a four-game week in Landmark Conference action with a .588 batting average. He was 10-for-17 with five runs, five doubles, a homer and two RBIs to go with a 1.059 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage, two walks and three stolen bases. In the field, Vozzo recorded six putouts and 12 assists in 20 chances at shortstop for a .900 fielding percentage. Vozzo hit safely in all four games, and he was 5-for-6 with three doubles and a home run in Moravian's 7-6, 12-inning win versus Susquehanna University.
The Hounds are scheduled to return to the diamond on Wednesday, April 8 in a Landmark Conference game versus Drew University beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Gillespie Field.
The Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Week is selected on Mondays by Moravian's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Sodexo will be giving each week's winner a free Starbucks drink at DeLight's Café.
