The travel traversed central Spain where participants visited castles, museums, palaces, and cathedrals to explore historical places in Madrid, Segovia, Ávila, and Salamanca. In Portugal students explored Aveiro, Coimbra, and Lisbon.

Victoria talks about her experience:
- I got the chance to travel several different cities, learning about the many historical landmarks in both Spain and Portugal alongside my best friends!
What made this experience appealing to you?
- I never would've thought that I would be able to travel out of the country at my age, but with Moravian giving students Elevate Funds to use towards the trip, it became super affordable for an amazing chance to learn more about the Iberian Peninsula.
How does this experience relate to your career or life aspirations? What are you looking to personally get out of it?
- While pursuing nursing in a highly Hispanic populated area, getting comfortable with the language was always an interest to me. Being able to travel to Spanish-speaking areas allowed me to not only observe their culture, but pick up on the Spanish language, hopefully allowing me to communicate with my patients more efficiently.
How has your athletics career prepared you for this role?
- Being in a different country without family, I depended a lot on my friends for support, which I am thankful to be able to always have support from my teammates on and off the field.
What are you looking forward to for this upcoming year for your sport?
- I am looking forward to having a successful, fun, and memorable senior year on the team alongside of my best friends!
Is there anything else you are looking forward to this summer outside of this experience?
- I am doing a Nurse Externship, allowing me to gain some extra hands-on experience in the hospital.
