Moravian Tops Drew in Middle Game of Landmark Conference Series
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University baseball squad defeated visiting Drew University, 11-6, in the middle game of a Landmark Conference series Wednesday afternoon at Gillespie Field.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Freshman right fielder John Phillips drew a leadoff walk while sophomore left fielder Troy Rabosky connected on a one-out, two-run homer to left field, his team-leading sixth home run of the season and the 13th of his career to move into a tie for fifth in program history
- The Rangers got on the scoreboard with a run in the top of the second inning to cut the score to 2-1
- Drew added a run in the top of the third to knot the score at 2-2
- Moravian pulled back ahead, 4-2, with two runs in the bottom of the fourth frame. Sophomore third baseman Owen Ness and freshman shortstop Nick Mancini hit one-out singles before junior designated hitter Domenic Venini drew a walk to load the bases. Phillips connected on an RBI single as Ness raced home while Mancini scored when senior first baseman Sean Superka hit an RBI groundout
- The Rangers tied the contest again with two runs in the top of the fifth, and the Rangers took a 6-4 lead with two more runs in the top of the sixth inning
- The Blue & Grey pushed four runs across the plate in the bottom of the sixth for an 8-6 lead. Mancini began the inning with a walk and Venini was hit by a pitch. After a sacrifice bunt from Phillips, Rabosky was intentionally walked to load the bases. Keitsock drew an RBI walk to push Mancini home while Venini touched the plate as junior catcher Ryan Kessler added an RBI walk. Freshman second baseman Jack Cappo gave Moravian the lead for good with a two-RBI single as Rabosky and Keitsock scored
- The Hounds finished off the scoring with three more runs in the bottom of the seventh. Venini ripped a one-out double while Superka drew a walk and Rabosky was hit by a pitch to load the bases with two outs. Keitsock connected on a two-RBI double as Venini and Superka came home. Kessler was hit by a pitch to load the bases again before Cappo drew an RBI walk to push Rabosky home with the final run
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian registered 11 hits on the afternoon with Keitsock going 2-for-4 with three RBIs, a run and a double
- Cappo was also 2-for-4 with three RBIs while Ness added two hits and a run
- Raboksy had three runs and a pair of RBIs to go with his home run while Mancini and Venini each had one hit and scored twice with Venini connecting on a double
- Superka and Phillips both had a hit, a run and an RBI with Superka adding a double
- Senior Nate McBride started on the mound and recorded three strikeouts in five innings of action while junior Ryan Hoffman earned the win in relief with a strikeout in an inning of work. Sophomore Andrew Sagrestano picked up the save with a pair of strikeouts over the final three innings
