Moravian Falls at Catholic in Landmark Series Finale
WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The Moravian University baseball squad fell to host The Catholic University of America, 16-5 in eight innings, in the final game of a Landmark Conference series Sunday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The Cardinals jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning
- Catholic added three runs in the bottom of the second frame and two more runs in the third for a 9-0 advantage
- The Cardinals extended the edge to 11-0 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth
- The Greyhounds got onto the scoreboard with a run in the top of the sixth frame to make it 11-1. Senior first baseman Sean Superka led off with a triple and scored on an RBI single by sophomore left fielder Troy Rabosky
- Moravian scored four time in the top of the seventh to make it 11-5. Sophomore third baseman Owen Ness hit a one-out double and moved to third on a wild pitch before Superka walked. Another wild pitch allowed Ness to race home before Rabosky drew a walk. Sophomore center fielder Luke Keitsock reached on an error as Superka raced home from second while sophomore catcher Ronnie Werkheiser drew a walk to load the bases. Rabosky scampered home on a passed ball before junior designated hitter David Rodriguez walked to load the bases again. Freshman shortstop Joe Loiacono was hit by a pitch to push Keitsock home
- Catholic finished off the contest with a five-run eighth inning
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian recorded six hits with junior Rodriguez going 2-for-3
- Superka scored twice to go with his triple while Rabosky had a hit, a run and an RBI
- Ness contributed a hit, a run and a double while Werkheiser connected on a double
- Keitsock scored a run while Loiacono added an RBI
- Sophomore Andrew Sagrestano made the start on the mound and had two strikeouts in two innings of work. Junior Ryan Hoffman tossed an inning while junior Wes Griffith pitched an inning with one strikeout. Junior Ryan Grill saw an inning of work while freshman Rocco Vosito had one strikeout in an inning of action. Freshman Mike Horvath tossed the final 1.1 innings
