Moravian Tops SUNY Potsdam in Hilton Head
HILTON HEAD, S.C. --- The Moravian University women’s lacrosse squad defeated SUNY Potsdam, 19-3, in non-conference action at Crossings Park in Hilton Head Monday to begin the Hounds’ Spring Break trip.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds opened the scoring as junior midfielder Bailey Leatherman found the net just over four minutes into the contest. Sophomore midfielder Ella Steirer scored 30 seconds later off a pass from sophomore midfielder Kathryn Hunsinger. Leatherman netted another goal with 3:36 to go in the first quarter as the Hounds led 3-0 after 15 minutes of action
- Graduate student midfielder Kerry Seiler scored an unassisted tally in the first minute of the second quarter to push the edge to 4-0. Senior midfielder Gianna Lotito and Hunsinger had goals a minute apart while Seiler and freshman midfielder Cora Sollenberger each had unassisted goals near the midpoint of the period to stretch the advantage to 8-0. The Blue & Grey netted four more goals in the period with Seiler, Lotito, Steirer and senior attack Victoria Salica each scoring once to push the lead to 12-0 at the intermission
- Steirer and Seiler each netted a goal in the first six minutes of the third quarter before the Bears got on the scoreboard midway through the period. Steirer added another goal, and freshman midfielder Alana Sollenberger netted a goal to give Moravian a 16-1 lead after 45 minutes of play
- Moravian added three goals in the fourth quarter with Cora Sollenberger, sophomore midfielder Izzy Lotito and sophomore attack Cailin Filep all scoring once while SUNY Potsdam recorded two goals
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had 11 different players register a point with Steirer and Seiler each netting four goals. Seiler also added three draw controls
- Cora Sollenberger contributed two goals, an assist, two ground balls and two draw controls while Leatherman and Gianna Lotito both scored twice with Lotito adding two draw controls
- Hunsinger registered a goal, two assists, three draw controls and a pair of ground balls while Salica, Izzy Lotito and Alana Sollenberger all had a goal and an assist
- Filep posted one goal while junior attack Melissa Elefonte had an assist
- Sophomore Lily Parker made the start in goal and recorded one save in the first half of the contest while senior Kayla Graef had three stops in the second half
- The Hounds held a 36-9 advantage in shots, a 16-10 edge in ground balls and went 10-for-11 on clearing attempts
