Moravian Tops Misericordia in Final Non-Conference Match of the Season
DALLAS, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s lacrosse squad topped host Misericordia University, 13-3, Wednesday in the Hounds final non-conference match of the 2026 season, extending the squad’s winning streak to three contests.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead as freshman midfielder Cora Sollenberger found the net just 1:24 into the contest. The Cougars knotted the score at 1-1 three minutes later while sophomore midfielder Kathryn Hunsinger scored at the 9:49 and 9:22 marks to give the Blue & Grey the lead for good. Junior midfielder added a goal with 11 seconds to go in the first quarter as the Hounds led 4-1 after 15 minutes of action
- Sollenberger and junior attack Melissa Elefonte contributed goals in the first seven minutes of the second period to push the advantage to 6-1 before Misericordia scored again. Leatherman tallied another goal with just over two minutes left in the half as Moravian took a 7-2 advantage into the intermission
- Leatherman began the third quarter with a goal just 1:22 into the half, and Elefonte netted two goals to make the edge 10-2 with just over nine minutes left in the third period. Leatherman scored again before Elefonte put the lead into double digits at 12-2 with a goal at the 4:59 mark, and that was still the score after 45 minutes of play
- Each squad scored once in the fourth quarter with senior midfielder Gianna Lotito finding the net for the Hounds
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had six student-athletes register a point with Elefonte leading the way with four goals and three assists
- Leatherman contributed four goals and an assist while Sollenberger posted two goals, an assist and three ground balls
- Hunsinger added two goals and three draw controls while Lotito a goal, nine draw controls, three caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls
- Freshman midfielder Alana Sollenberger registered an assist while junior midfielder Reagan Reiner scooped up three ground balls
- Sophomore defender Alanna McBrearty and Mia Faisetty both had two ground balls
- Sophomore Lily Parker started in goal, and she made seven saves in the victory
- The Hounds held a 31-18 advantage in shots, a 16-12 edge in ground balls and a 13-5 lead in draw controls
