Greyhounds Race Past Eagles for Second Straight Landmark Conference Victory

How It Happened
- The Hounds needed just 45 seconds to take the lead as graduate student midfielder Kerry Seiler tallied an unassisted goal. Sophomore midfielder Ella Steirer scored just over a minute later while sophomore midfielder Kathryn Hunsinger made it 3-0 at the 10:31 mark off a pass from junior attack Melissa Elefonte. Seiler and Elefonte scored to push the edge to 5-0 before the Eagles got on the scoreboard. Moravian added four more goals in the first period, one each from Hunsinger, Elefonte, Seiler and junior midfielder Bailey Leatherman to lead 9-1 after 15 minutes of action
- The Blue & Grey scored the first four goals of the second quarter with Seiler finding the net twice and Leatherman and freshman midfielder Cora Sollenberger each scoring once. Juniata netted the final goal of the half to set the score at 13-2 for the Greyhounds at the intermission
- Moravian had the only four goals scored in the third period with Hunsinger tallying two goals while Elefonte and Seiler both scored once to make it 17-2 after 45 minutes of play
- Elefonte, Steirer and sophomore attack Faith Mahoskey each scored once in the final quarter while the Eagles added a pair of goals
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had seven different players record a point with Seiler scoring a game-high six goals to go with three draw controls
- Elefonte contributed a career-high 11 points, tied for ninth in a single match in program history, on four goals and a career-best seven assists to go along with three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers
- Hunsinger posted four goals and five draw controls while Leatherman and Steirer each netted two goals with Leatherman adding two draw controls
- Mahoskey posted a goal and an assist while Sollenberger had one goal
- Sophomore goalie Lily Parker had five saves in 56 minutes of action while sophomore Cailin Filep had two saves in her collegiate debut as a goalie over the final four minutes
- Sophomore defender Alanna McBrearty caused a pair of turnovers while junior midfielder Reagan Reiner added four ground balls
- Junior defender Maia Machado and senior midfielder Gianna Lotito both scooped up three ground balls while sophomore defender Mia Faisetty had two ground balls
- The Hounds finished the contest with a 40-14 advantage in shots and a 20-12 edge in ground while going 14-for-17 on clearing attempts
