Greyhounds Race Past Goucher to Move Closer to Postseason Berth

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds opened the scoring 1:41 into the contest with a goal by junior midfielder Bailey Leatherman off a feed from graduate student midfielder Kerry Seiler. Sophomore midfielder Ella Steirer scored just 14 seconds later, and sophomore midfielder Kathryn Hunsinger added a goal at the 12:27 mark to make it 3-0. Junior attack Melissa Elefonte added a goal while Hunsinger and Leatherman both scored again as the Blue & Grey led 6-0 after 15 minutes of action
- Hunsinger completed a hat trick just over two minutes into the second period as the Hounds netted seven goals in the second quarter. Freshman midfielder Cora Sollenberger, Seiler, Leatherman, freshman attack/midfielder Kayla Glaeser, junior midfielder Reagan Reiner and Elefonte all tallied goals in the quarter as Moravian led 13-0 at the intermission
- Freshman midfielder Alana Sollenberger netted a goal just 40 seconds into the second half to make it 14-0 before the Gophers got on the scoreboard. Sophomore attack Faith Mahoskey netted a pair of goals while junior defender Maia Machado scored to push the edge to 17-1 before Goucher added another goal. Makoskey finished the period with a goal as the Hounds led 18-2 after 45 minutes of play
- Moravian netted three goals in the fourth quarter with sophomore midfielder Izzy Lotito scoring twice and Seiler adding a goal
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had 14 different players record a point led by Elefonte, who had nine points on two goals and seven assists
- Hunsinger contributed three goals and two assists to go with five draw controls while Mahoskey and Leatherman each had three goals and an assist with Mahoskey scooping up a pair of ground balls
- Seiler posted two goals, two assists, three ground balls and three draw controls while Lotito had a pair of goals
- Steirer added a goal and an assist while Alana Sollenberger, Cora Sollenberger, Machado, Reiner and Glaeser all scored one goal with Machado netting her first career goal and Glaeser posted a pair of caused turnovers
- Senior attack Victoria Salica and senior midfielder Gianna Lotito each had one assist with Lotito scooping up two ground balls
- Sophomore defender Amelia Walsh recorded three caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls
- Sophomore goalie Lily Parker registered four saves in 53 minutes of action while sophomore Cailin Filep added one save in seven minutes of action
- The Hounds had a 36-13 advantage in shots, a 23-12 edge in ground balls and went 19-for-20 on clearing attempts
