Moravian Races Past Susquehanna for Third Straight Landmark Conference Victory
SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s lacrosse squad raced out to an eight-goal second quarter on lead on the way to a 15-7 victory at Susquehanna University Friday afternoon as the Greyhounds captured their third straight Landmark Conference win.

How It Happened
- The River Hawks scored the opening goal before sophomore attack Faith Mahoskey found the net for the Hounds at the 10:23 mark to knot the score. Moravian took the lead four minutes later as junior attack Melissa Elefonte scored, and goals from graduate student midfielder Kerry Seiler and sophomore midfielder Ella Steirer made it 4-1 with just under four minutes left in the quarter. Susquehanna added one more goal as the Blue & Grey led 4-2 after 15 minutes of action
- The Greyhounds scored six consecutive goals in the second period to push the advantage out to 10-2. Junior midfielder Bailey Leatherman started the quarter with a woman-up goal while freshman midfielder Cora Sollenberger scored twice sandwiched around another marker by Seiler. Steirer and Elefonte added goals for the 10-2 edge while the River Hawks added a woman-up in the final minute of the half to make it 10-3 at the intermission
- Moravian put in all four goals scored in the third quarter with Mahoskey, Steirer, Elefonte and sophomore midfielder Kathryn Hunsinger each netted one goal to set the score and 14-3 after 45 minutes of play
- Susquehanna outscored the Hounds 4-1 in the final period with Seiler netting the Greyhounds' lone goal of the quarter
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian seven different players record a point with a trio of hat tricks
- Seiler posted three goals, three assists, four ground balls and three draw controls while Elefonte added three goals and three assists
- Steirer contributed three goals, two ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers while Sollenberger had two goals and four draw controls
- Mahoskey also registered two goals while Hunsinger and Leatherman each tallied one goal with Hunsinger adding nine draw controls
- Sophomore goalie Lily Parker posted six saves
- The Hounds held an 18-10 advantage in ground balls, a 28-17 edge in shots and a 16-8 lead in draw controls while going 10-for-12 on clearing attempts
