Moravian Holds Off Drew for First Landmark Conference Win of 2026

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds opened the scoring a minute and a half into the contest as sophomore midfielder Kathryn Hunsinger found the net. Junior attack Melissa Elefonte stretched the lead to 2-0 before the Rangers netted four straight markers for a 4-2 edge. Hunsinger scored again in the final minute of the period to cut the deficit to 4-3 after 15 minutes of action
- Sophomore midfielder Ella Steirer started a three-goal run for the Blue & Grey in the second quarter with graduate student midfielder Kerry Seiler and junior midfielder Bailey Leatherman adding goals to make it 6-4 with 2:46 left in the half. After Drew scored, Steirer found the net again to send the Hounds to the intermission with a 7-5 advantage
- Steirer also opened the second half with a goal while Seiler scored again to push the edge to 9-5 with 5:49 remaining in the third quarter. The Rangers answered with three goals to get within one at 9-8 after 45 minutes of play
- Seiler and freshman midfielder Cora Sollenberger netted goals within a minute of each other early in the fourth quarter to restore the three-goal edge. The squads traded goals throughout the rest of the match with Hunsinger and Elefonte scoring in the final 5:08 for the Hounds
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had seven players earn a point led by Hunsinger, who had three goals and an assist to go with three draw controls
- Steirer and Seiler each had three goals with Steirer scooping up three ground balls and Seiler grabbing four draw controls
- Elefonte registered two goals and three assists while Sollenberger posted a goal, four assists, three ground balls, three draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers
- Leatherman netted one goal while sophomore attack Faith Mahoskey added an assist and junior defender Maia Machado scooped up two ground balls
- Senior goalie Kayla Graef recorded six saves in the contest
- The Blue & Grey held a 24-21 edge in shots and were 20-for-26 on clearing attempts
